Philippians 2:1-4 New King James Version (NKJV)

Therefore if there is any consolation in Christ, if any comfort of love, if any fellowship of the Spirit, if any affection and mercy, 2 fulfill my joy by being like-minded, having the same love, being of one accord, of one mind. 3 Let nothing be done through selfish ambition or conceit, but in lowliness of mind let each esteem others better than himself. 4 Let each of you look out not only for his own interests, but also for the interests of others.

Jesus speaks to us through His Word and directs us so clearly that if we have any understanding, or fellowship with Him, we are to be like-minded. We are to be Christ like. We hear that term all the time as we walk down this path called Christian Lane. But what does it really mean to be Christ like? I think it becomes very clear at the end of verse one, simply put, 'have the same love.' He further says be of one accord and of one mind. We must understand, it all begins with love. you may think or even say I can't love the way Jesus loves. I don't have that kind of strength. I would agree with you, nor do I. However, something very powerful happened to me several years ago. The Holy Spirit breathed new life into me. He dwells within my heart, my soul lay restored by the presence of the Holy Spirit and thus I am equipped to love like Jesus. I will have to release some very self-centered strong holds to love like Christ, but if I release those strongholds my words will sound like this, "forgive them Father for they know not what they do." Our hearts will cry out, "forgive them Father they know not what they do." Are you allowing Jesus to love through you or are you trying to create His love in you by trying real hard to do certain things just right. It will not work. You see if you are following the lead of the Holy Spirit you will be surrendering to that part of you that says, forgive them and love them. If you are self-oriented you are listening to the fleshly side of you that says this pain will never go away, how can you just forgive them. In the end you can live in freedom or in bondage. Freedom when you surrender to love like Jesus. Bondage when you love like you. In verse three He says think of others more than yourself. Is that not what Jesus did when He said not my will but your will be done? You see Jesus had to surrender to the will of the Father and so do we. When we do God wins. When God wins we win. Love like Jesus today! With every ounce of your being love like Jesus. I think the question, What Would Jesus Do is a great question to ask. It doesn't matter if that doesn't line up with what you want to do. It doesn't matter if that is miles away from what you would do. DO IT AND DO IT NOW! Find the freedom that only exists in the presence and obedience of Jesus Christ, KING of KINGS, LORD of LORDS, God Almighty, powerful and true. That's my KING!

Reaching for Him,

Brother Big Daddy
