The Lord's Prayer is something we have all been exposed to many, many times in or lives. Unfortunately, I do not believe we have understood what Jesus was trying to teach us. Let us begin today with the first part of Matthew 6:9, Our Father in heaven, Hallowed be Your name. First of all do you come to God in prayer as if He is your PERFECT Father in heaven. He is not an earthly father with flaws and short comings. He is perfect and Holy. Hallowed be your name. The word Hallowed means to honor as holy. When we begin to pray we must honor God as holy. We must come to Him as if we are on Holy ground. I kind of think of my communication with God on two avenues. I have a text messaging communication with God. This is where 1 Thessalonians 5:17 comes into play. 1Th 5:17 Pray without ceasing. I have an open line of communication with Jesus Christ all day everyday. As things come up, I pray. I pray immediately and I pray often. However, that is not the only line of communication Jesus is seeking from us. He wants to spend some serious alone time in His throne room with me. It is a very reverent time and I sit before a mighty God and I speak and I listen. This is a sit down meeting to discuss where we are today. A meeting to worship the Most High God and to listen to the Most High God. This is a time and a place where I am very purposeful in my prayer. I seek Him according to His scriptures and it empowers my prayers for the rest of the day. It begins just as He modeled for us with me identifying Him for who He is my PERFECT HEAVENLY FATHER. His name is Hallowed. It is to be honored as Holy. As you prepare for the throne room ask yourself, 'what was God to you yesterday and what do you need Him to be today.' I may be facing what seems to me to be an impossible task today. I may be facing Goliath today, so how do I address God that has no goliaths? Dear gracious, heavenly Father, you are all powerful, you are the King of heaven and earth. What are some other things you may cry out to God during a time like this; Prince of Peace, Almighty Perfect Father, Alpha and Omega, Faithful Provider. The list can go on and on and you may go on and on, when the Holy Spirit takes over you just surrender and let your prayer flow. The point is we put thought into where we are, and who God is TODAY. We address Him as Holy and we honor His name. It sets the stage for the next part of our prayer which is praying for the will of God. Tomorrow grasshopper! We will train again tomorrow and we will look at the will of God on earth as it is in heaven. Reaching for Him, Brother Big Daddy

I hope you had a great day yesterday studying God's Word, praying and running the play. I hope you absolutely enjoyed being doers of the Word and not simply hearers of the Word. So today we will begin with a question, who was God to you yesterday. How will you reverently and respectfully address your heavenly Father today. Matthew 6:9-13 Our Father in heaven, Hallowed be Your name. Your kingdom come. Your will be done On earth as it is in heaven. Give us this day our daily bread. And forgive us our debts, As we forgive our debtors. And do not lead us into temptation, But deliver us from the evil one. For Yours is the kingdom and the power and the glory forever Amen. How would you address Jesus Christ yesterday regarding what He did in your life? Was He a comforter, then address Him as My Comforter, My peace... Was He a provider, then address Him as your God of perfect provision. Was He your source of love, then address Him as your Loving Father, your Loving Teacher. The point is make it real to what Jesus is doing right now in your life and address Him with reverence in that way. Pray for His will to be done in your life. Sincerely ask Him to empower in you with the desire for His will to be done. Explain to Him everything that is going on in your life. I know He knows but you need to verbalize it to Him and finish those thoughts with an honest surrender to His will and not your own. If you don't feel that way, ask God to make you feel that way. It is the only way. Father truly knows best. Ask for today's provisions. Ask Jesus to get you through today. Ask that the almighty powerful hand of God to get you through today's circumstance. Tomorrow will take care of itself. I do understand you may have a court date, or an future endeavor, then ask what do you need today for that to be taken care of later, seek Him in those areas. As you pray today forgive much, as you need much to be forgiven. Please understand Jesus in His model prayer tells us to ask that our sins be forgiven in the same way we forgive. As you pray ask God to empower you to forgive, be specific and be all inclusive. I believe this is a key to our ability to walk with Him. If we fail to forgive, we will find no peace because we need forgiveness ourselves. Next ask God to take care of your temptations, list them specifically. It doesn't matter how embarrassed you are about your temptation. List them by name and ask God to protect you from their traps. Ask God to give you eyes to see the door of escape. Finish with a time of just telling God how awesome He is. I mean open up all you have; He is holy and mighty powerful and true. I love you Jesus, I love you. Next pray to Him all day long about every little thing the connection is made talk and listen, yes I said listen. You just did a bible study on The Lord's Prayer. We will break each part down more in depth this week. Reaching for Him, Brother Big Daddy Acts 4:13 13 Now when they saw the boldness of Peter and John, and perceived that they were uneducated and untrained men, they marveled. And they realized that they had been with Jesus. So my fellow Warriors let us begin training. Bible study begins now. One of our scriptures from yesterday was Acts 4:13. The first part of the scripture talks about the men and women around Peter and John as they watched them and listened to them. You have to take a gander at the scriptures before to understand what was taking place. Acts chapter 2 is Pentecost. Acts chapter 3 they healed the lame. Now in chapter 4 they are taken by the Sadducees and arrested. The Sadducees were obviously offended by what Peter and John were doing. So in our Bible study training you may ask, how do you know about what took place in chapter two and three. Well without sounding smart...I read them. How much do I have to read? As much as you need to get the full picture. Some of you who have studied the Bible at great length, simply perusing the previous chapters will set the stage for you. Others will need to read them thoroughly to get a clear understand. Do what you need to do? But understand this my fellow warriors, do what ever you have to do? But get it done. There are souls depending on you! Our team is depending on you! You are on my team, I am on your team. And yes we are TEAM AWESOME! Ok the back ground is set and all is well, lets get back to the scripture. Acts 4:13 says, 'When they saw the boldness of Peter and John' they marveled.' Life application, are those around you seeing your boldness? Are you willing to tell others about Jesus and what He is doing in your life? Ask yourself who is God placing around you right now that you need to bold in Christ with. This definitely has to be apart of our prayer life this week. Jesus as part of my daily provision, reveal to me those you are needing me to witness to, talk with and pray with. Father, after you reveal this to me strengthen me to speak and do according to your will. You see it does not matter what your background is. You don't have to be seminary trained. You don't have to be a Sunday school teacher. You can be a fisherman, a tax collector, a tent maker. Today, you can be a nurse, a social worker, a carpenter, a custodian, a teacher. It doesn't matter what you do, it matters who you do it for. If you do what you do for Jesus, you will be just like Peter and John and the people around you will realize that you have been with Jesus. The most absolute necessary factor regarding this scripture is that you have to be with Jesus. So today WARRIOR UP! Be with Jesus so you can show Jesus to others. RAK CHAZAK! 4 No one engaged in warfare entangles himself with the affairs of this life, that he may please him who enlisted him as a soldier. I absolutely love this video. Chazak Amats! We are warriors! We are warriors! Be strong and look at your life differently. Have you separated your life? Honestly, have you divided your life into Christian components and secular components? Do you wear a christian soldier hat and then, a this is when I am with my peps hat? This scripture says no one engaged in warfare entangles himself with the affairs of this life. Have you considered where your battlefield is? In your division of your life, you may have very well attempted to make the very battlefield that Jesus has placed you in a secular venue. Most people are not bold enough to be so in the face of God that they say, 'well this is my area that I am not focused on the battlefield this is my "me time."' You definitely have No Fear of the Most High if you will say that. What we do is just scream it at the top of our lungs with our ACTIONS! Our actions say to God, I have punched the clock, I'M OUT. Time out I need a break. There is no time out in war! We must be on alert at all times we must be prepared and ready at all times. Our family life...the battle field. I will protect this HOUSE! Chazak Amats! My workplace...the battlefield. Chazak Amats! My entertainment...the battle field. Chazak Amats! My relationships... the battle field. Chazak Amats! My life...the battle field. Chazak Amats! Go fight in every aspect of your life for the kingdom of God! Do not let the enemy entrap you. Do not be fooled, there are mine fields everywhere and in every area of your life. Satan doesn't take a day off he considers our life free game and he attacks, ambushes and entraps in all areas. Take courage. Chazak Amats. Jesus wins. We obey Jesus wins. He is our commander, He is our WARRIOR. He is our FIGHT! We should be confident. We should be valiant. We should be PREPARED. Go fight today. Go give this life and this world everything Jesus has given you. At the end of the day polish your sword, check your armor. Commit to another day! Reaching for Him, Brother Big Daddy |
