![]() The Lord's Prayer is something we have all been exposed to many, many times in or lives. Unfortunately, I do not believe we have understood what Jesus was trying to teach us. Let us begin today with the first part of Matthew 6:9, Our Father in heaven, Hallowed be Your name. First of all do you come to God in prayer as if He is your PERFECT Father in heaven. He is not an earthly father with flaws and short comings. He is perfect and Holy. Hallowed be your name. The word Hallowed means to honor as holy. When we begin to pray we must honor God as holy. We must come to Him as if we are on Holy ground. I kind of think of my communication with God on two avenues. I have a text messaging communication with God. This is where 1 Thessalonians 5:17 comes into play. 1Th 5:17 Pray without ceasing. I have an open line of communication with Jesus Christ all day everyday. As things come up, I pray. I pray immediately and I pray often. However, that is not the only line of communication Jesus is seeking from us. He wants to spend some serious alone time in His throne room with me. It is a very reverent time and I sit before a mighty God and I speak and I listen. This is a sit down meeting to discuss where we are today. A meeting to worship the Most High God and to listen to the Most High God. This is a time and a place where I am very purposeful in my prayer. I seek Him according to His scriptures and it empowers my prayers for the rest of the day. It begins just as He modeled for us with me identifying Him for who He is my PERFECT HEAVENLY FATHER. His name is Hallowed. It is to be honored as Holy. As you prepare for the throne room ask yourself, 'what was God to you yesterday and what do you need Him to be today.' I may be facing what seems to me to be an impossible task today. I may be facing Goliath today, so how do I address God that has no goliaths? Dear gracious, heavenly Father, you are all powerful, you are the King of heaven and earth. What are some other things you may cry out to God during a time like this; Prince of Peace, Almighty Perfect Father, Alpha and Omega, Faithful Provider. The list can go on and on and you may go on and on, when the Holy Spirit takes over you just surrender and let your prayer flow. The point is we put thought into where we are, and who God is TODAY. We address Him as Holy and we honor His name. It sets the stage for the next part of our prayer which is praying for the will of God. Tomorrow grasshopper! We will train again tomorrow and we will look at the will of God on earth as it is in heaven. Reaching for Him, Brother Big Daddy
