Revelation 2:4-5
4 Nevertheless I have this against you, that you have left your first love. 5 Remember therefore from where you have fallen; repent and do the first works, or else I will come to you quickly and remove your lampstand from its place—unless you repent.

To the Church of Ephesus Jesus says, 'you have left your first love.' What was there first love? What is our first love? Our first love must be Jesus Christ and this love is a warm, exciting love that is inviting and powerful to the lives of those around us. You know what I am talking  about the times in life when you don't want to miss church for anything, you share with anyone who will listen and many who will not, all about Jesus Christ. You have a burden for those in your family that don't know Jesus. If there is a church function you are there. If there is something needed at the church you are there. If some one has a tragedy you come running. Bible study is important, church is important, Christmas get togethers, whatever has anything to do with Jesus is important. That is what it is like when we are tapped into our first love. When the love of Christ directs our path and moves in our life we are controlled by our first love. However if you do not continually put Him first the slow fade begins. Read the lyrics to the Casting Crowns song slow fade,

It's a slow fade when you give yourself away
It's a slow fade when black and white have turned to gray
Thoughts invade, choices are made, a price will be paid
When you give yourself away
People never crumble in a day
It's a slow fade, it's a slow fade.

You give yourself away, you lose your first love when you slowly turn away from Jesus Christ. Usually it is a very slow drift, but a month later, 6 months later you don't recognize your life. You are in places you thought you would never see again. You are doing things that you thought you would never even dream you would do. Your children are asking questions like, are we going to church today? You don't pray, you don't read the Bible, you don't fellowship and when you do, you don't enjoy it. Why? Because you left your first love. Repent today, grab on to the hem of His garment and hold on with everything you have but return, I beg you return to your first love. He is there, He loves you and He will take care of you, but you have to return to Him and do the things you once did.
Understand returning to your first love is a call to action, He says return to those things you did when you were on fire for me. No delays.

Rak Chazak,

Brother Big Daddy
