What are You Riding On?

Isaiah 40:31
But those who wait on the Lord
Shall renew their strength;
They shall mount up with wings like eagles,
They shall run and not be weary,
They shall walk and not faint.

How strong are you? What are your wings looking like? What are you looking like when you run? How is your walk? Did you faint? Have you ever been looking for something in the store and you can't find it? So finally you locate someone that works in the store which you thought did not exist because you have been searching for them for 15 minutes. When you finally find them you are very frustrated because there are four people ahead of you. You look like you have to use the restroom because of your body language and your gestures. You know you look more like you are having a seizure than waiting in line. When you finally do get to talk with someone who can help you, you are either so rude nobody wants to help you or so fake no one can. I do not think this is how Jesus wants us to wait on Him as He directs in Isaiah 40:31. I think when we wait in this manner we are not getting stronger. There is no strength coming, we will just flounder around talking about everybody and everything, mad at the world and telling the world how unfair life is and how we deserve better. Check this out there is a better way, really wait on the Lord. The actual meaning here is to "look eagerly for." It means to be excited about what Jesus can do and to be ready to go as soon as He says go. We are to jump on ready the second He gives the signal. It means to walk around with eyes wide open and ears wide open waiting for your next assignment, waiting on the next mission. Your attitude during this waiting period is that of total and expected victory. Ecstatically waiting to do what Jesus has in store. When we do this we will be crazy strong. Our strength will be unbelievable, our power in His hand, our might according to His will. We will soar, we will fly, we will do things the world says is impossible. We will walk different, speak different, love different. My brothers  and sisters, we will be different! Can I get a witness up in here? I said can I get a witness up in here? Alleluia, Alleluia! We will run and not grow weary. We will run with fighter flight. We will run with runner's high. We will not be slowed down, we will not quit. We will bust through walls full speed, we will crawl under obstacles rejoicing and singing and praising the King of Kings and Lord of Lords. Can I get a witness up in here? Finally, we will walk and not faint. That is right we will walk and not faint. We will smell the roses and enjoy our walk with God. We will plant seeds and prepare for the harvest, we will love as He directs us to love. We will bless as He blesses. We will prepare to mount up on some more wings and begin again. Alleluia! Alleluia! I love me some Jesus. He is mighty to save and He saved me. That is right, He saved me. I know Him, I love him, I hear Him, He hears me! I am His son! He is my Father. He calls me an heir. Can I get a witness up in here. Yeah I am fired up! Yeah I am getting pumped up for Bible study tonight! That's right, my Jesus will mold me and shape me tonight. That's right I can't get enough. I love Jesus and He loves me.

Reaching for Him,

Brother David
