John 4:5-15

5 So He came to a city of Samaria which is called Sychar, near the plot of ground that Jacob gave to his son Joseph. 6 Now Jacob’s well was there. Jesus therefore, being wearied from His journey, sat thus by the well. It was about the sixth hour.

7 A woman of Samaria came to draw water. Jesus said to her,“Give Me a drink.” 8 For His disciples had gone away into the city to buy food.

9 Then the woman of Samaria said to Him, “How is it that You, being a Jew, ask a drink from me, a Samaritan woman?” For Jews have no dealings with Samaritans.

10 Jesus answered and said to her, “If you knew the gift of God, and who it is who says to you, ‘Give Me a drink,’ you would have asked Him, and He would have given you living water.”

11 The woman said to Him, “Sir, You have nothing to draw with, and the well is deep. Where then do You get that living water?12 Are You greater than our father Jacob, who gave us the well, and drank from it himself, as well as his sons and his livestock?”

13 Jesus answered and said to her, “Whoever drinks of this water will thirst again, 14 but whoever drinks of the water that I shall give him will never thirst. But the water that I shall give him will become in him a fountain of water springing up into everlasting life.”

15 The woman said to Him, “Sir, give me this water, that I may not thirst, nor come here to draw.”

Please focus on verse 9 for a moment, 9 Then the woman of Samaria said to Him, “How is it that You, being a Jew, ask a drink from me, a Samaritan woman?” For Jews have no dealings with Samaritans.

I wonder how many people living in our neighborhoods, working right beside us, deep down believe that we as children of God have no dealings with them because they are lost. Remember that last word "lost." You see our brothers and sisters in Christ know we have dealings with them. They understand that we are dealing with them, because we discuss their situation, we give them scripture, we pray for them, and yes we tell them thus says the Lord when they are doing wrong and not following the the teachings of Jesus Christ. However, sometimes we deal with the lost the same way. We tell them all that they are doing wrong, before we ever introduce them to Jesus Christ. So back to my original thought, I wonder how many people living in our neighborhoods, working right beside us, deep down believe that we as children of God have no dealings with them. What can we do to change that? Have dealings with them. When they come to you before you condemn that which is already condemned, why don't you tell them about the most beautiful love you have ever experienced. Tell them what Jesus did for you and tell them what Jesus can do for them. If rejected, pray for them, if turned away, pray for the revelation of Jesus Christ in their life. If mistreated, count it all glory because it is not because of you, but because of your commitment to Jesus. Now I want to get real with you today and just lay this out there, are you happy? Is there joy in your life? Are you living the abundant life? Or are you what I will call a "Plus One." A plus one person is that individual that will tell you 100 good things going on; however, brace yourself because 101 bad things and complaints are coming. You know the comments, every body is stupid and everything is stupid. This doesn't make sense and that doesn't make sense. DON'T BE THAT GUY (or GAL). WHATEVER YOU DO DON'T BE A "PLUS ONE." Speak positive uplifting things. When you can't do that, please do more than be quiet, pray and ask God to remove the junk in your heart and mind. Stop allowing the junk to circulate through your heart and mind. Love the children of Jesus man! Give them everything and stop destroying them in your heart and mind. it is only a matter of time before you hurt them with your words and actions because of what you allow in your heart. Examine yourself and ask yourself this question, What is eating at me? What makes me so unhappy? Then take the answer you just gave, you know the one where you said, nothing everything is all peaches and cream, but your actions, attitude and comments scream lemons and sour apples. take that answer flush it and really answer the question. Sometimes we walk around with this pent up frustration in our lives and those around us experience it. Our brothers and sisters in Christ deal with it because they love us, the lost they want no part of the life you show them because who wants to be bitter and sour. Let me ask you this, do you know who the "well people," are in your life. Who are those that you have to deliver the gospel to at all cost. Those in your family who are lost would be a good start. Now, what are you doing about it? Have they hurt you? Have you forgave them? I want you to think about that statement because forgiveness means that you put all that hurt stuff behind you and you love them. You pray for them. You talk with them. You build a relationship with them at a cost to you. If you are not willing to do, that then you have the wrong attitude. And certainly not the attitude of Jesus Christ as He hung on the cross beaten and bleeding making the following request, "Forgive them Father for they know not what they do." BE DIFFERENT! BE DIFFERENT TODAY!

Three charges for you on this wonderful day that the Lord has made:
1) Don't Be a "Plus One."
2) Identify your "Well People."
3) Begin to build the relationship today at "Your Cost."

RAK CHAZAK,
Brother Big Daddy
