Take Responsibility

Yesterday Pretty Sheree and I were at the gas station. Unfortunately, we spend a great deal of time there. As I was pumping the gas I was standing at the door talking with Pretty Sheree when this lady in another vehicle pulls out to leave. There is a little intersection at the gas station and a car was coming. She had to slam on brakes, the other vehicle certainly had the right of way. Nevertheless she jumps out mad as can be using not so nice words and furious with the person in the other vehicle. She is not a little mad, she is furious. As I sat there and watched this play out I thought at what point do we take responsibility for our actions, and accept the consequences of our wrong doing. That is how it is with our walk with Jesus. There are things that we must do if we are to follow Jesus Christ and walk with Him. Yes there are rules, there are commandments. He tells us in John 14:15 “If you love Me, keep My commandments." When you don't and someone exposes your wrong and talks to you about it, do you get mad at them? When your consequences of your actions cause you hardship are you mad at you or the world? We have become a society that takes no responsibility for our actions. It is always someone else's fault and life is not fair. Folks, it is time that we as children of God take responsibility for our actions. We have the Holy Spirit of the most High God living inside of us and directing our lives in such a way that we are empowered to be different. So when we are not different it is our fault and our responsibility. May we be different today. Forget about next week and next month may we be different today. Walk today in the ways of our Lord Jesus Christ. Live today, pray today, study His Word today, find the abundant life today. It is there, it is available to you, the door is open, the power is on, you simply have to tap in. Jesus has empowered your walk. Walk!

Reaching for Him,

Brother Big Daddy
