Luke 2:41-50
41 His parents went to Jerusalem every year at the Feast of the Passover. 42 And when He was twelve years old, they went up to Jerusalem according to the custom of the feast. 43 When they had finished the days, as they returned, the Boy Jesus lingered behind in Jerusalem. And Joseph and His mother did not know it; 44 but supposing Him to have been in the company, they went a day’s journey, and sought Him among their relatives and acquaintances. 45 So when they did not find Him, they returned to Jerusalem, seeking Him. 46 Now so it was that after three days they found Him in the temple, sitting in the midst of the teachers, both listening to them and asking them questions. 47 And all who heard Him were astonished at His understanding and answers. 48 So when they saw Him, they were amazed; and His mother said to Him, “Son, why have You done this to us? Look, Your father and I have sought You anxiously.” 49 And He said to them, “Why did you seek Me? Did you not know that I must be about My Father’s business?” 50 But they did not understand the statement which He spoke to them.

When you travel down a road and you think you are traveling the way Jesus is taking you and you realize, you are not right, what do you do?

Time to Go to Work

I must be must be about My Father’s business. What are you doing in your day to day that says not to me, not to this Church, but to Jesus Christ that you are about His business?

  • Each choice you make declares are you about His business.
  • That is right the choices I make in my life are a reflection of me being about my Father’s business or about my business. So do your choices .You are either about your Father’s business or you are about your business.
  • Seriously what in your life says Jesus and what in your life says you.
  • Psalm 119:30 I have chosen the way of truth;
Your judgments I have laid before me.
  • Psalm 143:8 Cause me to hear Your lovingkindness in the morning,
For in You do I trust;
Cause me to know the way in which I should walk,
For I lift up my soul to You.
  • Psalm 25:4-5 Show me Your ways, O Lord;
Teach me Your paths. 5Lead me in Your truth and teach me,
For You are the God of my salvation;
On You I wait all the day.

I’m reminded of My friend Chris who passed away last year. We had a discussion around his family beginning to find a church home. He said that his wife and daughter would go to church, but his son stayed home with him. His marriage was floundering and his home was broken. And on that day he realized that his son was choosing to follow his desire. His words to me were so powerful. He said “Dallas, I realize now that my Son’s faith is a picture of mine.” He wanted Adam to serve and be faithful to Christ. And to be about the buisness that God intended, yet he was unwilling to do the same. Adam chose to be about his earthly fathers buisness. Chris chose that day 4 months before he died to chose to be about Christ business in his life. Today Adam is about his fathers business livening for Jesus. What examples are we setting for the kids? Do they see you seeking and serving for Christ or seeking and serving for yourselves?

Since reading Not A Fan I have had an unquenchable thirst for more information. God's word is on my daily reading list. I've never been a reader until now. Not a fan, Aha, and gods at war have all been completed since then and now I'm reading a book called Kingdom Man along with the bible daily. Every day is a step closer to where I want and need to be.
