1 Corinthians 5-6
Luke 9:23-27 Then He said to them all, “If anyone desires to come after Me, let him deny himself, and take up his cross daily, and follow Me. 24 For whoever desires to save his life will lose it, but whoever loses his life for My sake will save it. 25 For what profit is it to a man if he gains the whole world, and is himself destroyed or lost? 26 For whoever is ashamed of Me and My words, of him the Son of Man will be ashamed when He comes in His own glory, and in His Father’s, and of the holy angels.
Here is the most important question for you to answer today regarding walk with Jesus, is Jesus your consultant or your Lord?
Now before you jump out there with your answer so quick, let us look at this a little deeper. A consultant is someone whose wisdom we highly value and listen to, but at the end of the day, we make the final decision. They consult you in a situation, but you have the final call. One thing you need to understand God does not do consulting work. Kyle Idleman says, ‘when you treat God as a consultant, He simply stops showing up for your meetings.’
Lord on the other hand brings the connection to obedience. You cannot call Him Lord and walk in disobedience. Period end of story, if He is Lord, you don't take his word as a suggestion, you take His Word as the absolute authority in your life and you walk as He directs.
This is short but it is powerfully pointed!
How have you treat Jesus as a consultant?
How have you treated him as Lord?
What are you doing to correct your current situation?
