August 31, 2020 Reading Plan Matthew 7-8 Psalm 84 1. Write John 17:17 five times. 2. Read Matthew 7. As you read write down or circle words that stand out to you. 3. Write down your take-a-ways from the sermon on Sunday. 4. Outline Chapter 7. I will get you started. I. Do Not Judge. A. As you judge you will be judged. B. The measure you use will be used to measure you. C. Remove the plank in your own eye before touching the spec in your brother’s eye. D. Do not give your pearls to swine. II. You must ask, seek, and knock. A. 5. Define judge. 6. Discuss the words of Jesus, “2 For with what judgment you judge, you will be judged; and with the measure you use, it will be measured back to you.” 7. We have a problem down south in that we equate certain sins with salvation. If you committed this sin or that sin, then you can’t be saved. It is an easy trap that Satan sets for us because they are generally sins we do not commit. There is a grave danger in this attitude and approach to walking with Jesus. You become judge and you are not the judge. Why do you think we do this? Why are we so condemning in our attitude to the sins of others but so selective in the sin we choose to be condemning over?
