Imagine yourself as a living house. God comes in to rebuild that house. At first, perhaps, you can understand what He is doing. He is getting the drains right and stopping the leaks in the roof and so on; you knew that those jobs needed doing and so you are not surprised. But presently He starts knocking the house about in a way that hurts abominably and does not seem to make any sense. What on earth is He up to? The explanation is that He is building quite a different house from the one you thought of - throwing out a new wing here, putting on an extra floor there, running up towers, making courtyards. You thought you were being made into a decent little cottage: but He is building a palace. He intends to come and live in it Himself. -C. S. Lewis
“So then you are no longer strangers and aliens, but you are fellow citizens with the saints and members of the household of God, built on the foundation of the apostles and prophets, Christ Jesus himself being the cornerstone, in whom the whole structure, being joined together, grows into a holy temple in the Lord. In him you also are being built together into a dwelling place for God by the Spirit.”
Ephesians 2:19-22 ESV
Are you resisting the building that God is trying to do in your life? Are you trying to take the hammer out of His hands? How big of a palace will you let Him create?
Upon salvation, God begins a work in us. We sign a contract on our house that he has paid for. But here is the deal, we can't live in it until he's through with His work. He's going to live there while He works. When is he through? When he comes back to take us home. We have to empty ourselves of self, and let Him work. It WILL be painful. But it will be worth it!
I hope you have a good day, I love you! 💜
